This project involved the replacement of corroded flare lines at a SAGD facility near Cold Lake, Alberta. Sections of the line were located within the radius of a flare zone which posed significant risk to personnel.

 

To mitigate the risk, the lines, structural steel, and tie-points were scanned with LIDAR and 100% pre-fabricated at our facility in Grande Prairie.

 

During a scheduled outage, the corroded lines were demolished and replacement piping with structural supports were installed. All piping fit with no issues and the project was completed ahead of schedule with a lean crew during the outage window with no issues.
